What Happens During Treatment
When you arrive, we'll confirm your goals, go through a full medical and aesthetic history, and ensure the treatment is suitable for you. With your consent, we will take standardised photographs for your confidential record. Your skin is then cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied depending on the area being treated. We perform the treatment using either multiple small, superficial injections or with a cannula, depending on what area is being treated. Before you leave, we'll check the treated area, talk you through what's normal over the next 24–72 hours, provide written aftercare guidance, and agree your follow-up plan.
Expected Results
Polynucleotide results are progressive. You can expect improvements in hydration, glow and texture to develop over several weeks, with further benefit across a course of treatments.
How long results may last: Results vary, and many clients choose maintenance every 3–6 months (recommended).
Downtime & Recovery
Downtime is usually minimal. You may notice temporary redness, small bumps at injection points (papules), residual product under the skin while it is absorbed, mild swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising. These symptoms typically settle within 2-5 days.

- As with any injectable treatment, there is a rare but serious risk of vascular occlusion — urgent assessment is required for severe pain, blanching, mottling or colour change, blistering, worsening swelling, or any visual symptoms.

- Active skin infection, including cold sores in the treatment area

Aftercare
For the first 24 hours, keep the area clean and avoid touching or rubbing. Avoid makeup for 12 hours, and avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas/steam rooms and very hot showers for 24–48 hours to help minimise swelling and bruising. Please avoid facials, massage, microneedling, chemical peels and energy-based treatments on the treated area for 1–2 weeks (we'll advise you based on your treatment plan). Use gentle skincare and apply daily SPF. Contact us urgently if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness/heat, discharge, blistering, skin colour change (white/grey/blue), or any eye symptoms.
